Steven Conybeare of Conybeare Solicitors regularly provides legal services to clients of other law firms, as well as law firms themselves, accountants & professionals of various backgrounds, sizes and locations. We recognise that small to medium sized firms are increasingly becoming more specialised in their key areas of technical expertise. It is no longer possible to maintain profitable departments unless there is sufficient client work and the capability to deal with that work at the highest level. In the same way, our clients also require specialist advice that we cannot provide them and Steven Conybeare is always keen to ensure that a referral to another firm is made in the best interests of the client or potential client.

ADVISORY

Some law firms have instructed Conybeare Solicitors (Steven Conybeare) to act as their lawyers, effectively asking us to provide them with a bespoke company/commercial advisory service. Partners who mainly deal with commercial property transactions find themselves dealing with a company matter, albeit on the periphery of their transaction. They do not want to have to tell their client that they cannot deal with it, and thus possibly lose their client and/or the transaction to a competitor. What can they do? They can instruct Conybeare Solicitors! We provide the advice and assistance they need to ensure that they understand and properly deal with the company issues. We aim to provide this service as seamlessly and as cost effectively as possible.

AGENCY

Other law firms ask Conybeare Solicitors (Steven Conybeare) to deal directly with their clients, either in respect of a whole transaction, or just for the company/commercial aspects. We are of course happy to do this. Where we provide a service direct to your clients, we will do so as your agents or sub-contractors. You remain in control. You will be invoiced for our fees and disbursements. We deal with the client on all the work related matters. And of course it goes without saying that we NEVER poach clients.

CONSULTANCY

Some law firms have asked Steven Conybeare of Conybeare Solicitors to be a consultant to their firm. Again, this is a service which can enhance both parties reputations and marketing power. The advantage to you is that Steven would appear to be a direct member of your firm and/or team. As a consultant to your firm, he would have business cards and/or correspondence materials in your firm's name. We would agree a basic retainer fee to cover routine matters and where there was a specific project/transaction to be undertaken then a fee can be agreed once you have discussed it with your client. For example, if you are charging on an hourly basis, then Steven would do likewise. If there was a fixed fee, then Steven would take a percentage of that fixed fee. It is a flexible and adaptive relationship which is intended to provide you with the benefits of having a company/commercial specialist on-board without the added headaches of finding a full-time employee.

REFERRALS

Finally, there are referrals. Conybeare Solicitors (Steven Conybeare)often receive introductions and/or referrals. We listen to what your client requires and only if we are 100% certain that we can look after them properly, as one of our own, do we accept the referral. We are a commercial firm, and we have a commercial attitude. We will agree a percentage of the actual fees billed to the introducer, subject to compliance with the Law Society rules and regulations.

OUR NETWORK

Conybeare Solicitors work with other law firms and we are developing a dynamic network of firms to whom we provide introductions for our clients, when their requirements cannot be dealt with by us. We are keen to expand this network, and we are always looking for similarly minded professional firms to whom we can refer work. If you are interested, then please get in touch.
